The Midnight After” tells a story of 17 passengers on a bus, who realised that they were the only people who still existed when millions of others vanished.

This is the movie is where all the movie character to break the mystery and want to return to their world. On that night, everyone is get the van on Mong Kok which is heading to Tai Po. When the van is pass through Second Lion Rock Tunnel, everyone was closed their eyes a while and the vehicle is disappeared. There are only 17 persons including the van driver in the world. When the van reached The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the 4 university students get down and one of them suddenly not feeling well. They left them in the hostel room and try to search around the hospital / clinic for any help (but the truth is there are no one in the university and in the city). At the same time, the van stopped and all of the passengers are analysis what was happened. The middle-aged guy, Wong Man‑fah suggested to take everyone's phone number and dismissed. The main character, You Zhi-chi was went to his home and plan to ride the bicycle to find his girl friend at Mei Foo. The university student that not feeling well become the skeleton and the other 3 university students was shocked and run to get the help. When the time You Zhi-chi ride the bicycle to the Second Lion Rock Tunnel, the 3 university students want to approach to him but failed, and 3 of them died on the stop in the same time. You Zhi-chi felt sad because he can't find his girl friend. Suddenly all of them including You Zhi-chi received a call from unknown and Wong Man‑fah asked them for gathering in the restaurant. They discussed about this matter and Shun used Morse Code to break the secret behind the call. Who knows the Ou Yang-wei know the words actually is the lyric from a song, Space Oddity by David Bowie.

When he went to washroom afterward, suddenly he was burned with the fire and finally died in the restaurant. After that, You Zhi-chi saw the masked man and chased him with Wong Man-fah and Bobby. During the chase, Bobby felt down and touch on the LV Girl which is raped and died. At the same time Wong Man-fah and You Zhi-chi caught that guy and that guy say want to save him in Japanese. Unfortunately none of them understand Japanese, so the only way is use the Google Translate. He is You Zhi-chi's classmate and want to save them from danger. Then the man run away, and they reached Bobby and saw about the LV girl. When they returned to the restaurant, Bobby is not feeling well and suddenly he is died. This make Pat, his wife is very sad. And this time they started to take about LV Girl and want to punish the youngster whom rape the LV Girl. As a punishment, everyone is using the knife to pierce into his body after the van driver get his van. They are going to Tai Mo Shan to find the truth. During the road, a lot of masked man want to destroyed them and they are successful run away from them. And the story ended when they headed to Tai Mo Shan. As a conclusion, be grateful with the person which is around you and you will regret if you can't see them anymore in the rest of your life.
