Before I watched <Z Storm>, I collected the movie ticket for <The Fault In Our Stars> and <Z Storm> at the collection counter, the staff saw I have the movie ticket for <The Fault In Our Stars> and she gave me Limited Edition <The Fault In Our Stars> Badge (Actually I can only get it if I bought a pairs of ticket for <The Fault In Our Stars>). Around 05:00 p.m., I bought popcorn set before I entered the cinema hall to enjoy my movie.
Movie Review
For ladies, you are advised to bring a lot of tissue before you watch this movie. This movie is a very sad love story. Hazel who having lungs cancer had to attend the cancer patients' support group at the church and she met a guy called Augustus. They shared their favourite books to each other. Augustus is interested to know more about The Price of Dawn book as what Hazel did, he is trying to help Hazel since the writer didn't replied Hazel's mail, as Hazel mentioned to Augustus. Finally Augustus planned a trip to Amsterdam with Hazel to meet the writer but unfortunately a week before they go, Hazel suffers a serious episode in which her lungs fill with fluid and she goes to the ICU. The doctors asked her not to go but her mother and her can persuade them and the doctors will go with them for 3 days (they planned to go for 6 days). In these 3 days, Hazel and Augustus having the nice love memories together before they meet the writer, Van Houten and they find that, instead of a prolific genius, he is a mean-spirited drunk who claims he cannot answer any of Hazel's questions. The two leave Van Houten's in utter disappointment, and, accompanied by Lidewij, who feels horrified by Van Houten's behavior, they tour Anne Frank's house. After they returned from Amsterdam, Augustus confesses that while Hazel was in the ICU he had a body scan which revealed his cancer has returned and spread everywhere. Augustus, Hazel and Isaac having the pre-ceremony before Augustus's death in the church. Augustus dies eight days later. At the funeral, Hazel is astonished to find van Houten in attendance. He explains that he and Augustus maintained correspondence since Amsterdam and that Augustus had demanded he make up for ruining their trip by attending his funeral. He confides in Hazel that his novel is based on his own daughter, Anna, who died from cancer at a young age. In an attempt for forgiveness, van Houten tries to reveal the fate of Anna's mother and gives Hazel a piece of paper. Hazel, still upset with his behavior, crumples up the paper and asks him to leave. Later, while talking with Isaac, Hazel learns that Augustus had asked van Houten for assistance in writing her eulogy. Realizing what van Houten had given her, she retrieves the crumpled paper and reads Augustus' words, which state his acceptance of death and his love for Hazel, a sentiment she returns. As a conclusion, this is a very sad touching story and we should try to achieve our dream before it's too late. Their love story is a true sick love story.
