Computer is an electronic machine that can store, organize and find information. It also can do calculations and control other machine. From today, there are many types of computer. The most common are desktop computer and laptop. Computer can be used for business, education, entertainment and so on. Although it has a lot of uses, but it will also bring negative aspects to us. As a conclusion, we must know the advantages and disadvantages of the computer.
There are a lot of advantages of a computer. One of them is for education in school. The government provide a compact disc (CD) with the program in the subject which the teachers are teaching to them. The CD must be insert into the CD drive that in the computer to open the program. The students are enjoying the class because of the animation inside the program. The first thing they would say when they are looking the screen is “Wow! It’s cute!”. As a conclusion, computer is considered as the most effective teaching way in school.
Besides that, computer can be used to find information through the internet. In the internet there are a lot of information that we can search online. Wikipedia is an example of online encyclopedia which contain a lot of information. It will shows the information accordingly. So, many businessman and students use computer to complete their works. They can find more information through the internet than in the books because the books contain certain information only. As a conclusion, they can finished their project perfectly with the computer.
Unfortunately, computer has a lot of disadvantages. One of them is the computer costs you a lot. This is because a set of new computer is around two thousand to eight thousand ringgit each. Besides that, the electricity fee for a computer is expensive because it is need a lot of electricity to activate all the components which are installed on the computer, for examples, mouse, keyboard, speaker, monitor, printer and so on. You need to pay more if you always use the computer.
Besides that, most of the students are go into the computer games and they are not willing to go to school and they would rather play the computer games in cyber café until the schooling time is over. They use a lot of money to play the computer games in cyber café. After they play truant, and they always play the computer games at home, they will get a failing marks in the examination. We should control them and do not let them spend too much time on the computer games.
As a conclusion, we should use our computer wisely. Although it has a lot of uses, but we can’t misuse the computer.
